Effect of temperature on state of matter: On application of heat matter changes it's state as below

gas = - heat \: diposition \: by \: + heat \:<br /><br />sublintion \: \: <br />solid \: <br />+ heat \: by \: - <br />heat

If the pressure is changed, the temperature at which the material changes its state also changes. The higher the pressure, the higher the temperature needed to change the state of the material.

When sufficient pressure is applied, gas becomes liquid, if the temperature of gas is sufficiently low, and on release of pressure liquid become gas.
