When you apply a high amount of pressure on a material, the particles in the material can’t move as freely compared to when the pressure was absent. So, the more pressure you put on a material, the closer it will be to a solid. If there is a low amount of pressure, then the particles in the material can move much more freely, so the less pressure on a material, the closer it will be to gas.

Hey there!!!
=>> when a liquid is subjected to extreme pressure, it turns into either a solid ( eg ice) or into gas( vapours ). similarly happens with the rest of the types of matter. the change from liquid to solid is solidification, from solid to gas, sublimation, from gas to liquid, condensation, from liquid to gas, vaporisation, from gas to solid, sublimation, from solid to liquid, melting.
Hope it helped!!!☺️
