Answer:

Electric fuse is a safety device based on the heating effect of electric current. It is made up of tin or an alloy of tin and lead with low melting point. When excess current passes through the circuit, the fuse wire melts and prevents the appliance from being harmed. As a result, it works as a safety device. Now a days, electrical fuses are being replaced by MCBs. MCBs are switches which automatically stop the flow of current if the amount of current flowing exceeds the normal limit.

Fuse is an electrical protector ,which keeps electrical devices safe . It is a piece of wire made to limit excessive amount of current flowing through it, if high current is passed then this wire gets heated up & melts. If the wire melts , it opens the circuit. It also works as circuit breaker.
