So,there is a direct formula to calculate energy if wavelength is given

E = 12400 / λ  

Note : We have to put λ in A° and we will get the energy in eV.

Given λ = 1240 nm

             = 12400  A°

putting the value in the formula ,E = 12400/12400

                                                         = 1 eV
