GIVEN,

equation of line x-3y+4=0, point P.

TO FIND,

equation of the line passing through p parallel to X-3Y+4=0

SOLUTION,

Solving the given line equation to find the value of the slope.

⇒ X-3Y+4=0

⇒ 3Y=X+4

Y=\frac{1}{3} X+\frac{4}{3}

Hence slope of this line is a variable of X i.e \frac{1}{3}

now the required point is P

to find out the equation of the line we will use the point-slope form of the equation of a line,

that is,

(Y-Y₁) = m (X-X₁)

here 'm' is the slope of the like that we found, and (y₁,x₁) is the point P.
