m1(slope)=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m1=(9-7)/(8-2)

m1=2/6

m1=1/3

m2(slope of perpendicular bisector)=-3 [since lines are perpendicular]

Mid-point of (2,7) and (8,9) =( (8+2)/2,(7+9)/2)

=(5,8)

Equation of perpendicular bisector:-

y-y1=m2(x-x1)

y-8=-3(x-5)

y-8=-3x+15

y=-3x+15+8

3x+y=23
