∵ equivalent mass = Molar mass/n - factor
and n -factor = change in oxidation number
Here, 2IO₄⁻ + 16H⁺ ⇔ I₂ + 8H₂O - 14e
Change in oxidation number of I = oxidation number of I in IO₄⁻ - oxidation number of I in I₂
= +14 - 0
hence , n - factor = 14
Now , equivalent weight of IO₄⁻ = Molar mass of IO₄⁻/14
Now, you can easily calculate equivalent weight when given atkmci mass of I and atomic mass of O .
Hence answer is eq. Weight = Molar mass of IO₄⁻/14
