Answer:

The escape velocity for CHANDRAYAAN-2 is 11.2 km/s.

Explanation:

Escape velocity is the minimum velocity required by the body to remove itself from the earth gravitational field.

We know that the potential energy of the body is given by

P.E.= \frac{GMm}{R+h}.....................(1)

wher M=mass of the earth,m=mass of the Chandrayan - 2

h = height of the body from the earth surface.

We also know the K.E. of the body = \frac{mv^{2} }{2}...................(2)

where v = Escape velocity of the chandryan

From (1) and (2) we get

v = \sqrt{\frac{2GM}{R+h} }

Assume R+h=R

The escape velocity for CHANDRAYAAN-2 is 11.2 km/s.
