What is the essential difference between an Ac and generator and a Dc generator

AC generator produces an alternating current which reverses its direction continuously

DC generator generates DC current. For this it is provided with a commutator.

In DC generator the two ends of the coil to a commutator consists of two half rings also known as split rings.

In AC generator the two ends of coil is connected with two full rings called slip rings.
