Explain the formation of a cyclone.

A cyclone forms in this way:

  • When the warm and moist air above the ocean surface rises upwards due to its heaviness.
  • It leaves less pressure above the surface of the ocean.
  • The air around the lower atmospheric pressure captures that area because of high atmospheric pressure around the the lower atmospheric pressure surface.
  • Slowly, the air which is cool becomes moist and warm again and rises upwards.
  • This process continuous.
  • The warm and moist air above forms clouds.
  • These clouds and air starts rotating and eventually grows.
  • As it starts forming a bigger storm, an eye is developed in the middle of the storm which is of low atmospheric pressure and is calm than the other part of the storm.
  • This is how a cyclone is formed.
