Given ,

The polynomial is (p)² + 14p + 13

By prime factorisation or splitting middle term method , we get

(p)² + 13p + p + 13 = 0

p(p + 13) + 1(p + 13) = 0

(p + 1)(p + 13) = 0

p = -1 or p = -13

  \sf \therefore \underline{The \:  value \:  of \:  p  \: are -1 \:  and  \: -13}

p {}^{2}  + 14p + 13 \\  {p}^{2}  + 13p + p + 13 \\ p(p + 13) + 1(p + 13) \\ (p + 1)(p + 13)
