Aerobic respiration requires oxygen to generate ATP. Glucose is converted into pyruvate by glycolysis. The pyruvate is then transferred to mitochondria and get fully oxidised by the Krebs cycle. The product of this process is carbon dioxide and water.

Aerobic respiration breaks down glucose and combines the broken down products with oxygen, making water and carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is a waste product of aerobic respiration because cells do not need it.
