What is the fate of haploid megaspore formed by megaspore mother cell in an angiosperm plant?

Megaspore mother cell are diploid which produces four megaspores by meiosis.
And these megaspores are haploid in ploidy.
Out of four only one megaspore will remain functional and so it is called female gametophyte.

They form inside ovules and stayed attached to a parent plant, inside the mass they give rise to a female gametophyte.
