Answer: Alluvial soil is the most fertile soil in India. But there are two types of alluvial soil, Khadar & Bhangar. Bhangar is not very fertile as it is above the flood level and presents terrace like stucture. But Khadar is fertile as it is on the flood level. Khadar is deposited with new alluvium every year during the flood season and is formed of silt and clay
