Field visits are curricular activities in educational institutions like schools and colleges which is both a teaching and learning process.

EXPLANATION:

The students are taken to a different place outside their educational premises according to their age and education level. Field trips provide an excellent opportunity to enjoy as well as learn by observational and experiential methods and the student engages actively in the process.

Young children are mostly taken to nearby natural parks, zoos, museum, etc to observe and learn about the natural environment, animal habitats and behavior, historical facts respectively.

Older students are taken to places like sanctuaries, factories, observatories, laboratories etc to observe and learn more about higher technological concepts. Sometimes, students are also taken to field visits to places to do social welfare activities to promote social development among students.
