Liver is the largest gland of human body. It produces bile juice which helps in digestion of fats. This bile juice is stored in a sac-like organ called gall bladder. The liver can regenerate itself completely even after being removed almost completely.

1. The main function of liver is to filter the blood coming from the digestive tract, before passing it to the rest of the body.
2. The liver also detoxifies chemicals and metabolizes drugs.
3. The liver secretes bile juice which makes the food alkaline for pancreatic enzymes to act. It also acts on fats.
