The First Law of Thermodynamics states that heat is a form of energy, and thermodynamic processes are therefore subject to the principle of conservation of energy. This means that heat energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can, however, be transferred from one location to another and converted to and from other forms of energy.

➡ The first law of thermodynamics states that energy can be neither be created nor be destroyed .
➡ The first law, also known as Law of Conservation of Energy .
➡ It is based on conservation of energy .
➡ The law of conservation of energy states that the total energy of an isolated system is constant .
➡ This means that anything that uses energy is changing the energy from one kind of energy to another .
Where ,
• ∆u is the total change in internal energy of a system .
• q is the heat exchanged between a system and its surroundings .
• w is the work done by or on the system.
