Food Chain:-

The inter-relationship between plants and animals and between animals and animals in the sphere of energy production and consumption results in a definite pattern of several stages of eating and being eaten up — this is referred to as the food chain.

A food chain is basically made up of producers and consumers. The producers are represented primarily by the green plants, and, to a lesser extent, by the photosynthetic bacteria. The consumers include all the other types of organisms in the ecosystem like herbivores, carnivores etc.

hey friend

a food chain is the linear sequence of organisms through which nutrients and energy pass as one organisms eat another. In a food chain, eachorganism occupies a different trophic level, defined by how many energy transfers separate it from the basic input of the chain

EXAMPLE.=> Grass (Producer) —–Goat (Primary Consumer) —– Man (Secondary consumer)

In nature, basically two types of food chains are recognized – grazing food chain and detritus food chain.

Grazing food chain: This type of food chain starts from the living green plants goes to grazing herbivores, and on to carnivores. ...

Detritus food chain: ADVERTISEMENTS:

some other example:-

Butterfly - small birds - fox.

Carrots - rabbit - snake - eagle.

Corn - chick - snake - man.

Dandelions - snail - frog - bird - fox.

Dead plants - centipede - robin.

Decayed plants - worms - birds - eagle.

Fruits - bats - eagles.

Fruits - monkeys - monkey-eating eagle.
