The muscles of the small intestine mix food with digestive juices from the pancreas, liver, and intestine, and push the mixture forward for further digestion. The walls of the small intestine absorb water and the digested nutrients into your bloodstream.!!

Answer: Digestion makes the food easier to absorb .The food of animals is often complex .It must be converted into simpler substance so that it can be absorbed by the animal. The process in which complex ,larger and insoluble food particles are converted into simpler, smaller and soluble molecules, with the help of digestive enzymes.Digestion is a mechanical as well as chemical process. In physical process food is broken into smaller particles  by teeth . Later  on these smaller particle are converted into soluble simple substances by chemicals called enzymes.
