what is the force exerted by a conductor of length l ,carrying a current I when placed
1.perpendicular in a uniform magnetic field
2.along a uniform magnetic field

when it placed in uniform current carrying conductor than the force acting on a conductor is perpendicular to the current as well as magnetic field this is given by Flemming in his Flemming left hand rule
but when conductor is placed in non uniform field than the force is not produce on the body of conductor because there is no 90 degree angle between the current and magnetic field
