Given info : a mass of object , m = 20 kg is placed on a rough surface of coefficient of friction, μ = 0.24.

To find : the force required to move the object.

Here if we applied force greater than equal to static friction, object starts to move.

So, required force = static friction = μ × normal reaction

= 0.24 × m × g

= 0.24 × 20 kg × g

= 4.8 kgf

therefore the force required to move the object is 4.8 kgf.
