Hi there!

Pythagoras theorem - This property of triangles states that, in a right-angles triangle, the square of the side opposite to the right angle, will be equal to the sum of the perpendicular side and the base.
The side opposite to the right angle is called the hypotenuse.
So,

Hypotenuse^2 = Perpendicular^2 +  Base^2

For example, if the
Perpendicular side = 4 cm
Base side = 3 cm
Hypotenuse^2 = 4^2 + 3^2

So, hypotenuse = x

x^2 = 4^2 + 3^2
x^2 = 16 + 9
x^2 = 25
x = 5cm

Therefore, the hypotenuse equals 5cm.

Hope it helps you!!
