what is the formula for retardation

Retardation is negative acceleration.

So its formula is same as of acceleration.

a =  \frac{v - u}{t}

Just while writing answers write minus(-) before the magnitude.

(The SI Unit is also the same for both

 {ms}^{ - 2}

)

(NOTE THAT : If the acceleration is of 2 m/s the retardation is of - 2 m/s but if the retardation is of 2 m/s, the acceleration is of - 2 m/s)
