here is your answer--------->>>>>
Soaps are usually either sodium or potassium salts of fatty acids. They are usually made by combining Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) or Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) with an animal fat, vegetable oil, or even acetic acid. Examples are Sodium Stearate made from animal fat: C₁₇H₃₅COONa, or Sodium Palmate made from Palm oil: CH3(CH2)14CO2Na or Sodium acetate made from acetic acid: CH3COONa. The idea is to create a molecule that is hydrodphilic on one end (the metallic end) so that it will dissolve in water and hydorphobic on the other so that it will bond with the dirt or grease. The reaction produces the salt (which is the soap) and water. Potassium soaps are usually softer than sodium soaps. Commercial soaps for personal use usually have perfumes added.
