Let ABCD is a square whose each side is x unit.
Area of square=x^2 unit^2………………….(1)
the diagonalsAC and BD are mutualy perpendicular and equal in length and meet at point O . AC =BD = d
In right angled triangle AOB
OA^2+OB^2= AB^2
(d/2)^2+(d/2)^2=(x)^2
d^2.(1/4+1/4)=x^2
x^2 =(1/2).d^2……………………….(2)
put x^2 =(1/2).d^2from eq.(2) , in eq. (1)
Area of square = x^2 =(1/2).d^2 unit^2 , Answer
