What is the formula of ethyne?? Is it C2H2 or C2H4.

The formula of ethyne is C₂H₂; and not, C₂H₄. The second is, ethene. Therefore, the first one is correct.

It is a alkyne. Alkynes have genral formula CnHn.

C2H4 is ethene.
It is a alkene. Alkenes have general formula CnH2n
