ANSWER

Lens maker formula for convex lens.

 \:\:\:\:  \:   \large\mathfrak{\underline{\huge\mathcal{\bf{\boxed{\boxed{\large\mathcal{  \frac{1}{f}  = (u - 1)( \frac{1}{r1}  -  \frac{1}{r2} )}}}}}}}

now. for plano -convex lens.......

r2➝∞

therefore.....1/r2=1/∞=0

therefore.....the formula of lens makers at one plane surface area

  \frac{1}{f}  = (u - 1)( \frac{1}{r1}  ) \\  =  >  \frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{u - 1}{r1}  \\ now \: ..let..r1 = r \\  \frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{u - 1}{r}

 \:\:\:\:  \:   \large\mathfrak{\underline{\huge\mathcal{\bf{\boxed{\boxed{\large\mathcal{\frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{u - 1}{r} }}}}}}}
