Baking soda is used in soda acid fire extinguisher. it's formula is NaHCO3. Along with that, an acid(sulphuric acid) is present inside the extinguisher. When NaHCO3 mixes with the sulphuric acid, it gives a discharge of CO2. This extinguishes the fire
