Given:

x²-y²

To Find:

The formula of x²-y²

Solution:

The formula of x²-y² is (x+y)(x-y)

Proof:

(x + y)(x - y) =  {x}^{2}  - xy  +  xy -  {y}^{2}

(x + y)(x - y) =  {x}^{2}  -  {y}^{2}

The formula of x²-y² is (x+y)(x-y).

In mathematics, an algebraic expression is a combination of variables and constants, as well as algebraic operations (addition subtraction etc). Terms are the building blocks of expression.

Given:

The given expression is (x^{2}-y^{2}).

Formula of (x^{2} -y^{2}) is (x+y)(x-y).

Prove:

(x+y)(x-y)=x^{2} -xy+xy-y^{2} \\               =x^{2} -y^{2}

Hence proved.

So, the formula of (x^{2} -y^{2}) is (x+y)(x-y).
