Formula to find atomic weight is ( Z + N)

where Z = atomic number or no of electrons/protons

N = no of neutrons

Formula to find molecular mass is summation of atomic weight of all the atoms present in a complex molecule multiplied by its coefficient

For example

CO₂

Molecular mass = 12 + 2(16) = 12 + 32 = 44 g

where coefiicient of O is 2

CaCO3

Molecular mass = 40 + 12 + 3(16) = 52 + 48 = 100 g

AJAYMAHICH: weight and mass same hi h
AJAYMAHICH: ab to man jao
AJAYMAHICH: hehhehh
TheEdward: No u r wrong
rituparna42: okk thank you both of you
TheEdward: it is quantum chemistry dear dont think about it now
rituparna42: I am in 11th standard
rituparna42: our first chapter is based on these methods
TheEdward: I know you dont think about it deep
rituparna42: okkk

Hello ________

good evening___________

ATOMIC MASS :

Atomic mass = Number of protons + number of neutrons + number of electrons

The atomic mass unit can be associated to other units of mass using the conversion factor

                      1u = 1.66054 X 10^ -24g

MOLECULAR MASS :

molecular mass = atomic mass * no. of atoms in a molecule

1. Table salt - NaCl
Answer: 23(1)+35(1)=58

2. Ammonia - NH3
Answer: 1(3)+14(1)=3+14=17

3. Vinegar (acetic acid) - CH3COOH
Answer: 1(4)+12(2)+16(2)=4+24+32=60
