AC frequency is the number of cycles per second in an alternating current (ac) sine wave. Said another way, frequency is the rate at which current changes direction per second. ... Hertz (Hz): One hertz is equal to one cycle per second. Cycle: One complete wave of alternating current or voltage.

Hey mate

The direction of current gets reversed evry half rotation these type of current is called alternating current

The frequency of ac in India is 50hertz

(i) AC can be transmitted with much lower energy losses as compared to dc.

(ii) AC voltage can be adjusted (stepped-up or stepped down) as per requirement

(iii) AC current in a circuit can be controlled using (almost) wattless devices like choke coil.

(iv) a.c. is easier to generate

HOPE IT IS USEFUL
