Given,
Oscillations = 360
Time = 2 min
= 120 seconds
f = No. of oscillations/ time ( in seconds)
f = 360/ 120
f = 3 Hz

Now,
T = 1/ f. ........... since, T is inversely proportional to frequency
T = 1/3
T = .33 seconds

Given : A vibrating source sound makes 360 oscillations in 2 minutes.

To find : What is its time period and frequency?

Using formula :

1) Frequency = Number of times the pendulum oscillates/Total number of time taken.

2) Time period = Number of oscillation per second/Frequency.

Calculations :

→ Frequency = 360/2

→ Frequency = 180 hertz

→ Time period = 2/180

→ Time period = 0.0111 seconds

Therefore,

  1. Frequency = 10 hertz.
  2. Time period = 0.111 seconds.
