We know that the fuel value of ethane = 1560 KJ / mole

The molar mass of ethane = 30.07 g mole-1

Now calculate the fuel value kilojoules per gram of ethane as follows:

30.07 gm of ethane have fuel value = 1560 KJ then 1 gm have fuel value =

1560 KJ / mol  / 30.07 g / mole  = 51.8789 KJ/ g

Hence the Fuel value of ethane in    kilojoules per gram is   51.8789 KJ / gm
