AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

The initial symptoms of this disease may be a brief period of influenza-like illness. When some one has contracted the HIV virus , produces AIDS virus .

As the infection progresses, it interferes more and more with the immune system and makes the infected person too weak and thus susceptible to common infections like Tuberculosis, tumors, asthma, etc...

HIV

HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus .

The HIV can be found in saliva, tears, blood, and nervous system tissue , etc .. It is a life long infection.

However, modern advanced  treatment mean that people living with HIV in countries with good access to healthcare , very rarely develop AIDS once they are receiving treatment.
