angle I = angle of incidence

angle R = angle of reflection

It is the part of laws of reflection.

There are two laws of reflection are

1) The angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection.

2) The incident ray, reflected ray and normal at the part of incident all lie in the same plane mirror.

Angle of incidence and angle of reflection

Explanation:

i stands for the angle of incidence -- angle between the incident ray and the normal.

r stands for the angle of reflection -- angle between the reflected ray and the normal.

As per the laws of reflection:

1. The angle between the incident ray and the normal is equal to the angle between the reflected ray and the normal.

∠i = ∠r

2. The incident ray, the normal and the reflected ray are all in the same plane.
