RAW stands for RESEARCH and ANALYSIS WING....RAW is main intelligence agency of India. Under the leadership of Rameshwar Nath Kao, RAW was formed in September, 1968. It was dedicated to look for external intelligence. Rameshwar Nath Kao was the first RAW director. Prior to RAW, Intelligence Bureau was looking for both internal and external intelligence. The head office of RAW is situated in New, Delhi. RAW reports directly to prime minister of India.
