EXPLANATION:

A “Residual Current Device” (RCD) is the device that breaks an electrical circuit quickly. Thus by breaking electrical circuit it prevents a person from serious harm by electric shock.    

In the domestic premises, with the usage of 30 mA for protecting all socket outlets RCDs is required with a rate which is not more than 20 A.    

As RCD breaks circuits so it is also called as “Residual Current Circuit Breaker” (RCCB).
