EXPLANATION:

The “Indian Space Research Organisation"(ISRO) operates the space station in Sriharikota which is an island on the eastern coast of India. Another space station is at Thiruvananthapuram where smaller rockets are operated to experiment atmospheric conditions. SHAR is the only space station in India because the place is suitable for satellite launch because of three reasons.

1. It is closer to the sea-if there is any deviation in the movement of the satellite, a destruct command is given so that it can plunge into the sea in case of any error.

2. The place is closer to the equator which in turn saves lot of fuel for launching the satellite.

3. Good geographical region- the land should be strong enough to hold that vibrant launch of the satellite.
