Stems have four main functions which are: Support for and the elevation of leaves, flowers and fruits. The stemskeep the leaves in the light and provide a place for the plant to keep its flowers and fruits. Transport of fluids between the roots and the shoots in the xylem and phloem.

The functions of stem ate as follow....
1. It supports and holds leaves ,flower and fruits.
2. The stem allow the leaves to arrange in a way that they able to recieve direct sunlight for photosynthesis.
3. stems bears flower and fruits in a position that facilitates the process of pollination, fertilization , and dispersion of seeds.
