Alveoli is a sac like structure which is surrounded by capillaries.

Function :-

i)It receives oxygen inhaled by us and helps it to reach all other parts of body by the process called diffusion.

ii)Capillaries surrounding alveoli are reach in blood which is deoxygenated . Alveoli diffuses this oxygen in capillaries.

iii)As oxygen having higher concentration in blood diffuses in blood and is carries to all other parts of the body.

iv)Cells produce CO2 as by product and diffuses in blood this CO2 is brought again to alveoli and then trachea then larynx then pharynx and finally out of body CO2 is released.

hi mate,

==> we know that the Alveoli are an important part of the respiratory system whose function it is to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide molecules to and from the bloodstream.

==> These tiny, balloon-shaped air sacs sit at the very end of the respiratory tree and are arranged in clusters throughout the lungs.

I hope it helps you.
