Antibodies also block the binding of the bacteria to host cells by binding to cell-surface proteins. ... Antibodies are the first line of defence - IgM antibodies have a pentameric structure and are rapidly generated in blood. They can bind to multivalent antigens, such as bacterial cell wall polysaccharides

Hey there!

Antibodies are the a kinda Proteins that are produced by the immune system to help stop/remove foriegn bodies/intruders from harming the body.

These intruders can be Bacteria, Virus, Fungi etc.

When a foriegn body (Antigen) enters the body, our Immune system gets to work to demolish/finish them.

Antibodies in our body blocks the biochemical pathway of the Antigen. The stop its further growth i.e. Finally demolishes it.

External Antibodies are also available in form of different medicines, but natural Antibodies that ara naturally formed in our body are the best.

HOPE IT HELPED ^_^
