Answer:

blood:- Blood is a fluid connective tissue. It contains a liquid matrix called blood plasma(55%) which lacks fibres but contains blood corpuscles(45%) . these corpuscles are of various types:

1. red blood cells

2. white blood cells

3. Platelets

Function

1. Blood transports nutrients, hormones and vitamins to the different tissues and transports excretory products from the tissues to liver and kidney

2. Blood allows the transfer and distribution of heat and thereby maintains the constant body temperature

3. the RBCs carry oxygen from respiratory organ to the tissues and brings back CO2 from the tissues to the respiratory organ

4. The WBCs protect us from disease either by engulfing and destroying foreign bodies or by producing antibodies

5. At the site of injury, blood platelets release platelet factors that help in blood clotting. This, in turn , decreases the chance of blood loss
