The calyx plays an important role for the flowering plants.
These are the outer coverings of the flower and it is only thing you see of the flower while it is still in the bud form.
Function of calyx-
1-It protects the developing flower and prevents it from drying out.
2-It protects the reproductive organs of the flower.
