it ease down the process of digestion.  digestive enzymes are of different types, each responsible for digesting different type of substance like lipids, try-gliysrides, proteins, carbohydrates...protein digesting enzymes are mainly pepsin, trypsin, chymotrypsin... carbohydrate digesting are amylases(alpha and beta) like, maltase sucrase...or lipid digesting like lipase... All protein enzymes are inactive and get active only by the removal of extra amino acids from their active site.

Digestive enzymes such as lipase, pepsin etc. breaks down complex food particles into simple ones. Once it get broken into simple ones it then get easily absorbed by blood and then is transported to all cells of the body.
