Digestive enzymes are proteins that regulate the chemical reactions the body uses to digest food.
Functions :
Digestive enzymes such as amylase acts on starch and complex sugars and convert them into maltose. Lipase acts on fats and convert them into fatty acids and glycerol. Trypsin apps apps on protein and convert them into peptides.
They all help in breaking down of complex food particles into simpler substance. So that food can be easily absorbed by the blood and transported to all cells of the body.
