A germ pore is a small pore in the outer wall of the fungal pore from which then the germ tube exit upon germination. If its location is considered then it can be apical or eccentric. Germ pore plays a key role in the plant fertilization. It helps in the formation of pollen tube and release the male gamete during fertilization.
