Answer

Kidney is a sack like structure situated just below the abdomen that filter and absorbs waste materials such as nitrogenous wastes, urine, urea and uric acid. This is an excretory organ which helps on excretion of nitrogenous wastes from our body. There are two pairs of kidneys in our body.Left kidney and Right Kidney.

Eack kidney has a number of filtration units which regulates urinen and other wastes is known as nephron. It is the basic filtration unit of kidneys. It filters urine, urea etc.It has a collecting duct, renal vein, renal artery and Bowman's capsule. There are a number of nephrons in a kidney for faster filtration and excretion.Wastes are.excreted and the nutrients are again absorbed to the body through the blood.

Hope this helps you.
