what is the function of left auricle in heart

During the contraction cycle of the heart, oxygenated blood from the lungs passes through the pulmonary veins and enters the heart at the left atrium. The left atrium's job is to collect this blood and pump it to the left ventricle, which in turn pumps the blood to the body's tissues.
