White blood cells (WBCs), also called leukocytes or leucocytes, are the cells of the immune system that are involved in protecting the body against both infectious disease and foreign invaders. All white blood cells are produced and derived from multipotent cells in the bone marrow known as hematopoietic stem cells.

Leucocytes(WBC) are of 5 types::- 1.Neutrophils:- Kills germs by the process called phagocytosis. 2.Lymphocytes:- Play important function in immune system that relates to Antibodies production. 3.Monocytes:- As macrophages they do the job of phagocytosis. 4.Eosinophils:- release toxins, which act against parasites and worms.Increased Eosinophils means increased allergy. 5.Basophils:- Secret anticoagulants and antibodies against hypersensitivity. These are 5 types of Leucocytes with their functions.
