- Lymphocytes are also known as white blood cells or leukocytes.
- They are basically a type of white blood cell.
- These are the main components of our immune system.
- It respond and control the foreign invaders in our body.
- It kills the harmful antigens.
- All the lymphocytes have a large nucleus.
- There are three types of lymphocytes:- natural killer,T cells and B cells.
- Natural killers help in the protection of body by killing tumor cells and the cells infected by viruses.
- T cells or thymus cells helps in producing immune responses and helps in killing pathogens.
- B cells or bone cells helps in producing antibodies which kills bacteria and viruseshelps in producing antibodies which kills bacteria and viruses.
